Tomizone - The Skype of Wi-Fi
Being the Skype of Wi-Fi is what Tomizone’s about. We too agree with the sentiment from Bruce Simpson of Aardvark with his commentary of “producing a commercially viable Wi-Fi set-up that will be ubiquitous and functional.”
In Bruce’s article, he mentions that the real money is in Mobile VoIP using Wi-Fi as the coverage mechanism. Although in theory this will work nicely, the reality is quite a bit different when you look at the scarcity of the ubiquitous interconnected Wi-Fi network.
This is where we at Tomizone are helping people create this massive “ground up” led initiative that can indeed be the Skype equivalent for Wi-Fi.
The only thing that will turn the network ambition into reality is time and collective recommendations by the early adopters to help populate the earth with as many Wi-Fi hotspots that are interconnected.
From that base then, when the density is good, then you will see innovation in the Mobile VoIP space. From there, prices will come down for handsets and innovations such as the Apple iPhone will continue to prosper (notice that Apple didn’t put 3G into the device? A coincidence? I think not).
So with Tomizone enabling interconnected Hotspots, you can potentially “see what we see” as our multi-currency, real time, micro-payment and distribution system can prove to fill that gap.
With density, Tomizone can indeed be the Skype of Wi-Fi.
