iPhone creates a fun noise
It’s a little over two weeks since we kicked off the Apple iPhone / iPod Touch initiative (you know, the one where you get 500 MB free usage on any Tomizone hotspot until October 11th?) and needless to say it’s created quite a noise!
When our initiative hit the news here, here, here and here, we thought we’d be a little smarter by sending our CEO Steve Simms to sit in the queue to be among the first in the world to get an iPhone! He was 7th in line (his lucky number) and being the gadget guy he is, managed to get some good coverage for us on NZ’s TV3 CampbellLive here, and pre-launch here and here. And we were well blogged on Engadget here and Gizmodo there too!
Ok - the secret is out too - he was actually one of the few lucky ones pre-launch that got an iPhone from Apple for review so waiting in line was a necessary task for the Tomizone team as punishment!
Anyhow - now that the noise has dulled to a quiet “roar”, we can reflect on the success so far - without revealing confidential data we can certainly say we’ve been overwhelmed by the uptake of our initiative with users in every country we’re in. Quite a few have already used their 500 MB allocation. Some users love the Internet on iPhone so much at a Tomizone hotspot, they’ve gone on to become regular customers who’ve bought our affordable Wi-Fi time! Tell your friends to use their gadget at our Hotspots too…
Thanks for all the support so far and remember: if you own a Tomizone Hotspot, you get paid for iPhone and iPod touch users coming to your place! what are you waiting for…get to it people!
