Tomizone boss Steve Simms wants his company to become the Skype of wi-fi. That is, anyone with a Tomizone account will be able to secure a casual wireless internet connection in almost any location.

Wireless internet company Tomizone has broken into the Chinese telecommunications market with a multimillion-dollar deal.

Tomizone, a global Wi-Fi service provider and Wi-Fi hotspot company, has joined D-Link’s Global Alliance Programme (GAP) for solution partner to integrate Tomizone’s Wi-Fi hotspot software into select D-Link router models.

Local wi-fi service provider Tomizone ranked as number one hotspot provider in Australasia.

Auckland-based wi-fi service provider Tomizone has been named as the largest wi-fi hotspot provider in Australasia by research firm Agitavi Research, an international research company that specialises in ICT industry research.

Tomizone says it is now the largest Wi-Fi hotspot provider in Australasia with 10,000 hotspots, beating Telstra with 1,450 hotspots and Telecom with 550.
